NEWARK TOWN BAND (website will be operating shortly)

I (Caroline) now have the pleasure of being voted in as Secretary of Newark Town Band - this fabulous brass band is now in its 61st year.  I play timpani and various other bits of percussion for them and my husband Alan plays kit.

We have an excellent new Musical Director in Brian Newland, who has also directed Lincoln Fire & Rescue Concert band, for many years.  Sam Sutton is the Chairman and is the mainstay of this band.

We have about 30 players on the books and are always on the lookout for new good players - no audition necessary - and you will be assured of a very warm welcome.  Our rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm at The Bridge Community Centre, Lincoln Road, Newark NG24 2DQ.

Several of us dash off to the Barge in Newark after rehearsals where our Quiz Team - Newark Town Bandits - partake in all the fun!!

We have now decided to go back into contesting..........

If you are interested in joining or booking the band, please email me at newarktownband@hotmail.com or contact Caroline from this web page and I will be delighted to answer any questions you may have.

This is the band I started 22 years ago in 1997.  A large, friendly and well organised concert band welcoming players of any age.  You need to be of at least a Grade 5 standard, but we don't ask you to audition.  We have around 60 members with a high standard of play up to Diploma and Conservatoire level.

We have an excellent following and several high profile concerts per year.

We meet in The Dome, Kelham Hall & Country Park, Newark, NG23 5QX Tuesdays @ 7pm
